Ranked Video Editors is a small, independent team of editors and writers who got tired of "best of" lists that read like ad reads. We started this site to do the slower version of that work: open every tool, run real footage through it, and write down what holds up after a week of cuts instead of a fifteen-minute demo. The whole project lives in the long afternoons — careful work, plain language, no rush to publish before we've actually used the thing.

How We Work

Every editor on this site gets tested with the same kind of footage we'd hand a paying client: messy multi-cam interviews, vertical phone clips, screen recordings with bad audio, and a few exports nobody asked for. We spend at least a week with each tool before forming an opinion — long enough to feel the friction of a real timeline, not just the brochure path. Scores come from craft, speed, and price. We update reviews when software shifts under us, and we date every page so you know what version we tested.

What We Stand For

Rankings are ours; the dust is honest. We don't sell pedestals, we don't take payment for placement, and a brand can't buy its way up the list. Some of our outbound links are affiliate links — when a reader buys through one, we get a small commission, and that's what keeps the lights on and the testing rigs warm. It funds the work; it doesn't steer it. If a tool would rank higher because someone wrote a bigger check, we'd rather close the laptop.
